A shepherd's hut on Barankowa Glade is a must see spot for every tourist coming to Zawoja. It is not far from housing estates, a senior shepherd stays there with his flock of sheep in the grazing season. It's one of the two glades in Zawoja where you can still see grazing sheep. In the past there were many more such places, but today only on Barankowa Glade and in Skawica Sucha Góra you can buy unique cheese, called 'oscypek' straight from the smoking chamber. You can also see what a shepherd's hut looks like inside and see how the shepherd makes „oscypek” and other kinds of cheese from sheeps' milk. Just remember to come to the hut around noon because then the shepherd comes with his flock of sheep back to the hut to milk them and make some cheese.
