The oldest fir in Poland and the biggest tree in Babia Góra National Park. It was about 600 years old and 60 meters high. In 1914 as a result of a strong wind and a bonfire inside its stem the tree collapsed. Today you can see a reconstucted (in 1960) stem of the tree and a wooden touristic shelter. There is a mountain spring a little bit below. Trees, espcially green spruces and firs are a symbol of life and the world. Roots of a tree refer to the dark and cold other world, the stem of a tree is an everyday life, and the tree crown symbolises heaven.
