The memorial was funded by moutain rescuers. It commemorates their late friends. Babia Góra is trifled by some tourists and considered 'an easy to climb' mountain. They are mistaken as it is called 'The Mother of Bad Weather' which shows what you can expect to experience there. The beautiful weather  which you see at the beginning of your climb can quickly change into a thunderstorm which can be really dangerous. You should treat the mountain with respect and prepare well before climbing it.
