The stadium of the local team, situated in the center of the village. The word 'watra' in the local language means a bonfire. The stadium in the center of Zawoja is even now called 'targowica' (marketplace) by older inhabitants of the village. Every Thursday it was the site of a street market. Women were selling household products such as eggs, butter, cheese or cream. Men were more interested in cattle and horses. You could also exchange linen here (which was a widely cultivated plant in the region) for tokens that you could later exchange for household items. In the times when Zawoja was inhabited by Jews, it was the place where you could find their stalls.
