The shrine in Zawoja Policzne is an example of sacral architecture from the end of the XVIIIth century. The shrine under the invocation of St John the Baptist is also called a brigands' chapel. It is believed that local brigands counted their money here so that's where the name Policzne comes from. It is believed that it was constructed to beg for forgiveness for their sins.
